Creating a Triptych of 30 individually painted panels with 15 centre panels collaged in torn and glued coloured paper was an altogether different challenge.
I was asked to work with a team of service users and a member of staff to produce this piece which was to be a colourful 5ft. high x 9ft. wide panel sited near the new Café.

It would be a well-utilised area and so the work had to be of a high standard but in working with other non-artists, it had to be within their practical capabilities. Hence the decision to deconstruct the panels to smaller 1ft. square pieces which would be easier to paint and collage. The result is quite amazing and all credit to my team for their patience and endurance in what might have been seen as tedious work. The opportunity of working with this team, service users and staff, was for me a highlight of the commission and we became well acquainted over the many visits I made to their art room.
